2008 Association
Projects
BMJCA Fundraising/Annual
Omelet Breakfast
2008 Fundraising Project Chairs: Alice
Zeissler and Bruce Miller
Fundraising and dues are the primary source of funding
for Association projects. The omelet breakfast has a
long-standing history of success. Until such time as an
alternate fundraising mechanism is put into place the annual omelet
breakfast will continue to be the Associations primary fundraising
event of the year. Other related components of this
fundraising event are the Mountain Memories Yard Sale and the
raffle. Anyone interested or willing to help in any of these
areas is asked to contact the committee chairs.
Community Clean-up
(Adopt-a-Highway, Annual Dumpster Grant, Fire Safe Council
Chipper
2008 Clean-Up Project Chairs: Miranda
Morris & Larry Hildenbrand
The Association has adopted
the portion of Humboldt Rd. from the CDF/USFS Fire Station to the
green gate just beyond Deacon's Row Rd. The Hillsliders Club
has adopted the road from the green gate to the snowmobile
park. The BMJCA will conduct two clean-ups each year, one
the Saturday of Memorial weekend, and one the Saturday
of Labor Day weekend. Volunteers are asked to meet
at the lower fire station at 9:30 a.m. on these Saturdays. The
necessary gear will be provided and the clean-up generally takes one
to two hours. All Association members with street frontage property
are asked to regularly pick up litter at their street frontage
area.
2008 will be the
third year we have applied for grants to bring 40 yard dumpsters
into the community for use in eliminating rubbish and yard
waste. The first dumpster opportunity for 2008 will be
Memorial Weekend. Both yard waste and general rubbish
disposal will be available on that weekend. Attempts will
again be made to get the Butte Fire Safe Council
chipper/composter. Dumpsters must be
monitored during all hours of operation. Volunteers for
this project are
necessary.
History Committee
(Museum, History Book, Historical Data)
2008 History
Project Chairs: Ren Wakefield, Jim Carroll, Larry
Fechner
This committee is refurbishing
a line shack for use as a museum. The museum
is situated on the Volunteer Fire Station property and
once complete will house memorabilia for folks to view
during special events. The
Committee is searching for historical photos of the Butte
Meadows/Jonesville area that can be digitally scanned for
reprinting. Boardmember Ren Wakefield is the contact person
for this project.
BMJCA.com
(Web Page, Web Camera, Weather Station)
2008 Web Project Chairs:
Kathleen Purvis and Alice Zeissler
The Association currently has
a web camera and weather station linked to this web site. Both
are hosted by the Outpost courtesy of Bill Prichard. During
2008 the committee will consider a second web camera location--at
the Bambi Inn. The Bambi would host its camera on a satellite
receiver connected to a generator--so it will usually work even if
the Meadows are lacking in electricity. If
you are interested in supporting this particular project feel free
to make a donation along with your membership dues--and note the
donation is for purposes of the web camera. All donations
noted specifically for this purpose go to maintaining the web
page/camera/weather station.

Nominations Committee 2008 Membership/Nomination
Project Chairs: Barbara Conklin and Dennis
Goslin

the membership. Every new and existing member are encouraged to
sign up for the Enloe Flight Care Program. Every year there is
a minimum of six positions up for re-election. This committee
will search out potential Board members from the Association as a
whole. Eligible members are those voting members who have
paid annual dues for a minimum of two years and have participated on
at least one community project.

Butte Fire Safe Council
Representation
