WeC P
We Care Animal Program
(WeCAP)
Of Butte
Meadows
In an effort to lessen the
growing population of feral cats in the Butte Meadows area, a
few individuals have organized WeCAP "We Care Animal Program"
of Butte Meadows. All funds for this program are via
donations. The mission of the program is to capture feral
adult cats--spay/neuter and provide rabies vaccinations and then
release them back to the meadows. These cats are beyond taming
and turning them over to a humane society would result in near
certain death. They are given the opportunity to continue as
they have been living off the land--without proliferating.
Kittens are also trapped, vaccinated, tamed and every attempt
is made to find them a home prior to resorting to turning them over
to a humane society. Chico Animal Hospital provides
all services to the animals and program funds go directly to Chico
Animal Hospital.

We are always in search of a few good homes for
kittens--including farms that would appreciate good
hunters. While our feral cat population decreases,
our related costs rise with each trip to the vet.
Monetary donations can be made to the Chico Animal Hospital with
"WeCAP" noted somewhere on the check. Volunteer rescue
workers are always welcome. We also have live traps
and carriers available on a borrow basis.
