Fire Updates
Wednesday 3:00 p.m.
The smoke in the valley(Chico) has returned.
However, the smoke is primarily coming from the Trinity County
fires. Air Quality levels are again at unhealthy levels.
People are encouraged to use caution when going outdoors.
Progress continues to be made on the Cub
Complex. There are specific areas that are still closed to the
public.

A
reminder that there will be a celebration of life gathering for
Carpenter Rick This weekend--July 26th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bambi
Inn.
NEW
NEWS: Volunteer Fire Company 10 is now the proud
owner of an older--but new to them fire truck. The
Company & the community now have
the opportunity/challenge of outfitting this piece of
equipment. PLEASE support our Fire Dpartment by attending
the Cabin Tour on August 9th. ALL proceeds will go toward this
effort.
Tuesday
11:00
The Fire
Rehab Update for today reports:
Firelines have been
established around the perimeter of the fire and crews continue to
patrol and extinguish hot spots within 300 feet of those lines. Incident Commander Behm says
that the role of the remaining firefighters is to “seek and destroy”
any embers which would threaten control lines, as well as assist in
rehabilitating damage caused during suppression. In addition
both the Butte Meadows and Cherry Hill campgrounds are open.
Last weekend ATV riders in the back area of Colby Lookout were told
to leave immediately as they were clearing debris from the forest
and the area was closed to the public--so check before you go in
that direction on ATV's.
